![]() ![]() The fiddly bits of that get complicated, however, and I can understand why many users don't bother. I share /u/quiet-sorrow's question about the graph editor in Stata, and will go one step further: for reproducibility of results, it's usually best to do the manipulation of colors and whatnot in the Stata do-file. Word for Windows therefore sees a set of vector graphics it can separate and manipulate, while Word for macOS sees a PDF it cannot modify. This is due to technical details of each OS's pasteboard and graphics handling. In macOS, they're copied as PDFs and are seen by other applications as bitmaps, just like a photo. In Windows, Stata graphs are copied as either WMF or EMF files by default (it's one of those, and it varies by version). I have tried to get a stata trial version, however the company supposed to provide it in my country did not really answer my emails, and before spending almost 100€, I thought about asking here. My question: any mac users out there, are you able to copy, paste and ungroup your figures from stata to powerpoint on a mac? However, I have tried to ungroup figures from statview on my mac and it doesn't work (not sure why). I can do the exact same thing with statview figures. This leads to have all the pieces independent from one another and I can change colors, line width, etc. At work I have a windows, however at home I have a mac book pro (OS 15.4 if that matters).īackground: whenever I need to change colors or stuff from my graphs/figures, I copy the figure from stata (on windows), paste it on a powerpoint slide and ungroup the figure. I also use statview (I know, very old school). I have been using stata for a while although I'm far from an expert.
